Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and currently based in Los Angeles, California, Abait's multimedia works deal with climate change, environmental fragility, and their impact on immigration in particular. Her work have been shown widely in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia in solo shows in galleries, museums and international art fairs.
