Zeinab Alhashemi is an Emirati conceptual artist specializing in site-specific installations and public art. Captivated by the UAE's rapid transformation into a global industrial powerhouse, Alhashemi challenges spectators’ perspectives by deconstructing their familiar surroundings through experimental installations. By blending natural and artificial elements, her work highlights the impact of human intervention on the environment and invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with their surroundings.
Her artworks have been displayed at numerous exhibitions and events, including participation in the Richard Mille Art Prize exhibition at Louvre Abu Dhabi; There May Exist, Theseus Temple, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, Austria (2024); Art D’Egypt Second Edition, Pyramids of Giza (2022); Mirage, Desert X AlUla, KSA (2022); and Takween, Sustainability Pavilion, Expo2020, Dubai (2021). Alhashemi was also an Artist in Residence at the SETI Institute, Montalvo Art Center, San Francisco (2018).
Alhashemi received her BA from Zayed University (2010).
